One of Tebol’s earliest memories as a child is from the Yom Kippur War in 1973, “I remember my father storming out of the house, while in the background war alarms were ringing and bombs falling.” Land Research is based on Tebol’s fascination with changes in landscapes caused by massive military presence. A physical trajectory that leaves only an allusion of what the land might have seen. The project stems from a sequence of traumatic events Tebol underwent, from his childhood memories to his years as a combat soldier, and from a growing need to understand the ongoing conflict’s psychological impact on himself and Israeli society.
