Curator: Prof. Dana Arieli
The exhibition presents a collective perspective of 86 Israeli photographers, alongside rare archival materials. The North is presented here as a tense space, where wartime landscapes and military presence are intertwined with everyday life. The works raise questions about the role of the photographer in times of crisis: Is it possible to document from a critical perspective? From one of solace? Or from one of escape? And what degree of attention should be given to photography during wartime?
Among the featured photographers: Reli Avrahami, Tslil Agmon, Tomer Appelbaum, Werner Brown, Iris Barnea, Oded Hirsch, Mati Halili, Nurit Yarden, Boris Carmi, Gidon Levin, Boaz Lanir, Gilad Ofir, Ohad Matalon, Tamar Nissim, Hadas Satt, Shlomo Serry, Doron Oved, Zoltan Kluger, Teddy Kendall, Miki Kratsman, Ronit Porat, Guy Raz, Aviseg She‘er-Yishuv, and many others.
