Open Call for organizations, galleries, and institutions for cooperation with the International Photography Festival – PHOTO IS:RAEL

The 2020-2021 Open Call for International Collaborations
Following the worldwide Coronavirus pandemic, this year’s festival will feature a unique format.
We at PHOTO IS:RAEL believe that art and culture are needed now more than ever to remind us why life is worth living. For us photography is a language, the language in which we speak, communicate, and argue.
But photography is also a celebration, and once a year we celebrate the International Photography Festival as a platform for all those who use the language of photography to express themselves and foster dialogue between people and countries.
These challenging times remind us that photography, art and culture can help people and communities to bond and to enrich our lives with inspiration and healing power.

Keeping these principals in mind, we are pursuing carefully to prepare the 8th edition of the International Photography Festival this coming November, without any compromise to COVID-19 but by taking all the necessary precautions and measures we are creating a new model for the festival, in which most of the exhibitions will be held in the open air accompanied by a rich program of international lectures and artist talks on online platforms.
For the first time, the festival will be a traveling one, meaning, it will be launched for 10 days in Tel Aviv and will be travelling to 3-4 peripheral sites /cities around Israel during 2020-2021 for additional exposure, value and affect.

PHOTO IS:RAEL is a non-profit public benefit company.
We work to fulfill our goal of a “better society through the language of photography” by promoting social outreach and dialogue between art and various communities across Israel.
Since its formation, the company has offered platforms for exhibition and research and has spotlighted artistic and social topics through the language of photography.
We believe photography is a universal language that transcends cultural and gendered boundaries and is understandable to all.
It is a language that bridges the gap between the central and the marginal and between disenfranchised communities and the public at large.
