What is the relationship between the memories of the children in the Maabarot and visual documentation and reality? The carriers of culture and the new language for their “silent” immigrant parents, what was etched in the memory of the Maabarot children between the puddles, tents, and sheds, between the different languages, the multitude of cultures and diverse communities? The exhibition offers a glimpse into the world of childhood in the Maabara as captured by various photographers – those who worked in the service of official organizations alongside independent and personal photographs.
