In 2022 Noga Kalinsky joined The VIllages Group; a group of Israeli activists in support of the Palestinian communities residing in Masafer Yatta in the West Bank, an area under Israeli occupation in a state of extreme distress. Her photographs of people and landscapes are testimony to the daily suffering of life under military occupation and the ability to survive. In May 2022, the Israeli supreme court affirmed a decision to turn Masafer Yatta into a firing zone. Ever since, its residents are in immediate danger of losing their land and homes. The group members focus on aiding the residents against arrests, navigating health issues, and securing life-altering scholarship opportunities for students, among other things. Above all, their actions serve as an expression of hope for a better future for all.
