„Like a Bird“

Instead of living with animals in natural harmony, we keep them in cages designed to match our own preferences, needs and desires. „Like a Bird“ explores the idea of a different approach, introducing a small yellow canary in a birdcage made of ice, as a romantic symbol between captivity and freedom. As the cage melts, the boundary between being trapped and being free gradually disappears. The 45-minute-long film is a documentation of the project which was first realized as a public installation in the Caldera de Taburiente National Park on the Canary Island of La Palma (Spain), in 2019.
