Mandy Barker is an international award-winning photographer whose work over the past 10 years about marine plastic debris received global recognition and has been exhibited in over 50 countries worldwide. Working with scientists, she aims to raise awareness about plastic pollution in the world’s oceans, highlighting its harmful effect on marine life, humans and a wide array of ecological systems. Her visually attractive artworks draw the viewers in and engage them in the problems they represent. In this way, she hopes, she’ll encourage her audience to take action – to stop or at least reduce their use of plastic, which is a grave environmental concern.
