Kincső Bede’s work is rooted in the ever-present and eternal dilemma regarding: how generations with different historical experiences coexist, collaboratingֿ, within their respective families and communities. In her work, she confronts socialism’s legacy and the unspoken past that generates tension in Eastern European societies in radically changing socio-economic, collective, and personal contexts. Bede approaches her subjects in her attempt to present the ambivalent relationship children have with their parents’ traumas, also providing personal insight into old and new problems.
